Marketing Manager – The Front Runner of the Company!
Would you like to lead the Marketing department for an award-winning Danish company and the largest independent manufacturer of paints and hobby accessories in the market for miniature wargaming, board games, and tabletop roleplaying? While fulfilling this role at The Army Painter Headquarters in Skanderborg, Denmark – you will be in charge of an extremely passionate and creative team of six specialists, each dedicated to their respective field. The atmosphere can be a little nerdy and fun, but everyone is highly professional, and the assignments are varied and plentiful.
You will have the overall responsibility for ensuring that both our print and social media, will be inspiring, relevant, and manageable. Our customers and end users should continue to have the best possible experience with The Army Painter.
In short: You will take part in defining and being responsible for implementing our overall marketing strategy, while also being an accelerator in the success of new product launches.
Social Media Expert
SoMe plays a large part in our marketing strategy. We are present on most SoMe platforms and are currently in the process of expanding our relaunched website into an explorative hobby portal. We expect you to have a great understanding of these platforms, as you will be able to discern the strengths and weaknesses of each.
We have a successful influencer/content creator strategy developed by our Marketing, E-Commerce, and Sales departments. By analyzing the individual influencers/content creators, and their core followers, we have been able to reach a wide audience with significant success. However, the work never stops as new influencers/creators surface every day. Your job will be to keep focus and collaborate with our employee in the US, who manages the direct communications with influencers.

Many of your assignments will be project oriented, and we expect you to either lead projects or be an important contributing factor. Significant experience with project management tools like Gantt charts will be highly regarded.
We have a well-defined product development process called “Lightbulb” and we expect you to manage the Marketing effort in the process, as well as making sure to deliver within deadlines. The promotional plan for new products will include lots of exciting hours of brainstorming with the Marketing team, Sales, and the CEO. This is where the magic in The Army Painter starts. It is a fantastic process, in which you will be a leading part!
Experienced communicator – Organized and delegating leader
Your role will be working closely together with our Sales department in Roskilde as well as our Production, Purchasing, and E-Commerce departments in Skanderborg. You will be in touch with many different stakeholders, both internally and externally, so it will be expected of you to be able to stay on top of your projects, as well as give clear and concise instructions. Dissemination of information and process management will be the most crucial elements of your workday. Therefore, your ability to communicate well, both written and spoken, will be highly demanded.
You will be responsible for making sure our marketing material stays within the guidelines of our in-house style guide. For this reason, you must have a certain amount of experience with graphic design to be able to discern if some visual elements work or not.
We prefer the right candidate:
- Has experience with management of personnel
- Is highly organized, understands the importance of meeting deadlines and delivering finished and flawless products
- Can provide examples of your ‘outside the box’ thinking and innovative solutions
- Not a criterion but highly regarded if you have some kind of experience with roleplaying, board games, miniature wargames and/or miniature painting – or can see the fascinating aspects of fantasy/sci-fi literature, books, or movies
The position as Marketing Manager will require you to be residing in Denmark as you will work at our headquarters in Skanderborg. We expect you to live near Skanderborg or within a fair proximity. We will assist you in any way possible if you do not currently have Danish residency.
You will report directly to CEO and founder, Bo Mørck Penstoft.
